Wall painting is exclusively drawn by Hideki Kimura, a prominent artist in Kyoto. The artwork represents the land of happiness whose symbol is a lotus flower. The frog represents our wishes that our valued guests can return again.

Room also can be used as a bedroom. We can accommodate up to 4 people. Kyo-Karakami (woodblock painting method) crafted by skilled artisans are used on Fusuma doors in the smaller room. Enjoy the fine works which we have thought through to the very last detail.

We have traditional Tsubo-niwa (a tiny courtyard) that can be admired from veranda at the back of the house. Composed of moss, Japanese maple tree, and the art of bamboo pipe of water. Oriental lamp illuminates the beauty of each season. This serene space brings you back to a traditional Kyoto.

Exclusive room service is available at Gekkou-an. Shojin Teppachi cuisine presented by Izusen will be served. Teppachi is an iron bowl where Zen monk receives meals. The origin came from India, arrived to Japan in Nara Era. Dishes and flavors representing the seasons are served in bowls shaped as Teppachi. Enjoy a culinary experience unique to Kyoto while feeling the spirit of Zen through those dishes.

Other menus including Kaiseki Dishes also available according to your budget.
